The World Health Organisation launched The Healing Arts 2021 campaign and call to action which included some panels and discussions (my favourite things) about arts role in the healing and health of our society – especially post COVID. It was organised by Christopher Bailey who is the WHO Arts and Health Lead and includes 5 days of online events with working artists, medical researchers, art therapists and policy-makers about the evidence for the efficacy of the arts improving mental health and the quality of life. Plus it’s chaired by Dr Dan from Operation Ouch which my kids bloody love !
It was super interesting actually and so much better than trying to read an actual WHO report which I have attempted to do in the past when they released their research on the role of education in the protection of human rights for young girls and the devastating effects of child marriage across the world. That was A LOT LESS uplifting I can tell you.
