The uncomplicated truth about women’s sexuality

Sarah Barmak’s TED talk on female sexuality is really interesting and is once of those more science-based talks that doesn’t feel too powerpointy. She talks about obvious things like the orgasm-gap, the lack of literacy on female genitalia, “cliteracy” if you will and I like how she talks about sexuality and desire as non-linear. She mentions this diagram, which I’ve recreated here, created by DR Rosemary Basson – a non linear model of female sexual response.

A quote I like from the end of the talk is this:

“If we define sex as part of our whole health and wellbeing then empowering women and girls to fully own it is a crucial next step toward equality.”
