This organisation are great and have amazing resources, I’ve been on some of their workshops in the past to do with teaching the dismantling of gender stereotypes and trans allyship in schools and it’s always really informative and helpful. I’ll keep an eye out on future relevant workshops again, the website is really great and also love their resources for support with the new RSE curriculum that is being rolled out in schools this year.

Again for the tween age girls there is actually very little happening. With Years 3 and 4 having basically a recap of the stuff they learnt in year 2 with a little more depth. I get that’s it’s a tricky age in which kids are developing at different stages and that they are too young for some kinds of subjects and conversations but I also think we are doing the girls, who enter puberty earlier and quicker than boys at this age (don’t get me started on the hormones and chemicals in our food and water that are aiding in this speeding up process!!) a disservice. Particularly as at this point they are still changing for PE in the same room (in some schools not all of course) and feeling self conscious and some girls may have started their periods by this time.
