Agreeing with this article that is mostly talking about the Porn Literacy program that was developed by public health researcher Emily Rothman and colleagues – the TED talk about which I have watched and written about on here already. Porn is sex ed fact and we need to work out how to critically consume it in the same way we might any other kind of media if we are going to continue to live with it and it’s far reaching effects.
With this in mind I want to further investigate the ways in which the porn literacy approach could be broken down into say 4 or 5 smaller chunks to accompany a making workshop as a framework for a possible intervention. I want to keep the intervention open to as many people as possible at this point I think too so keeping things fairly broad in terms of topic as well as materials will be fairly key I think too.
