So last night I did an intervention live session online with about 30 or so dads. We talked about porn (ethical and non-ethical), talking to your kids, making choices etc. It went really well. It was a format I wasn’t used to where I did most of the talking and the participants types comments and questions into the live chat. I made a series of visual slides with facts, stats and questions which thank god I did as I wasn’t expecting to be doing most of the talking. It’s a shame in the sense that I like it went the convo flows with everyone but it was good to experiment and work out a new format where I am in a more presentational role.
The feedback was great and Jim and Dan, the organisers, who were lovely, were really pleased and interested in further collaborations which is great. I am currently making them a resource guide for sex ed info and examples of ethical porn including a free taster of the Bright Desires website which I’ve kindly be given log-ins for by it’s creator.
I’ve given the dads a link to a short survey for more feedback but will keep my expectations low as to how many responses I get just based on the amount of feedback I get from dads in general being so much lower than the mums! We’ll see.
